Leadership
Our students gain leadership skills through a variety of opportunities at SCL. We encourage our students to become involved in activities which will teach them responsibility and team-building.
- Student Ambassadors
Eighth grade students, who are trained, lead tours throughout school for visitors.
- Safety Patrol
Patrol students manage traffic flow in and out of the parking lots at the end of the school day. We have five crews that work one day each week. Their commitment to the patrol and the safety of the children at SCL should be highly commended!
- The Morning Show
The morning show is open to eighth grade students. There are several teams of anchors and co-anchors. They keep the student body informed of happenings in the school. They often have the younger students on the show. This helps the student body get to know each other. The camera crew produces and tapes the show.
- Student Council
Student Council is an organization that provides leadership opportunities for middle school grades, and will be designed to encourage school spirit and unification through service and camaraderie. Student Council offers a role model component that is beneficial and compliments the TAKE ACTION Olweus Anti-Bullying theme.
- Field Day
8th Graders are chosen to lead 12 different teams during SCL's Annual Field Day events, whereby leadership and teamwork skills are reinforced in a fun and exciting environment.
- Buddy System
SCL is proud of it's buddy system. Upperclassmen are assigned buddies in the younger grades giving them opportunities to lead and guide young SCL students. Buddies sit together during all-school mass, work together during Field Day, and participate in Lenten activities and more.
